Claude Duet - Product Image

Claude Duet is Anthropic's proactive agent that briefs you each morning, keeps working on a cloud computer, and asks before it sends, pays, signs, or deletes.

It messages you first

The Claude chat app waits until you open it. Claude Duet is a separate app, on iPhone, Android, and claude.ai, that starts the conversation. Anthropic built this research preview on Claude Opus 5.5. You cannot switch models. Duet decides how much effort a job needs.

  • Each morning it looks across the email and calendar you connected, picks what most needs you, and can draft the first replies for you to review.
  • Through the day it checks those accounts every few hours, not all the time. Anthropic says nonstop checking would use up a plan's limits much faster, so a message that arrives between checks can sit until the next pass.
  • You type or send a voice message. One main thread keeps the history. Separate channels can cover other topics, and they share the same memory.
  • Memory, skills, and connectors already on the Claude account are there from the first message. Duet can also search your past Claude chats outside of projects. Deleting a chat removes it from that search. The switch is the same one as Claude: Settings, then Memory, then Search and reference chats.
  • A cloud computer with its own browser keeps working after you close the phone. You cannot watch that browser or take it over. If a site asks for a password, you type it on your own device. Anthropic says that form is meant to keep the password out of the chat.
  • The Tasks tab shows what is in progress. Finished files, such as a brief, a spreadsheet, a deck, or a dashboard, show up in the Make tab. Duet may suggest a task looks done. Only you can mark it complete.

There is no extra Duet price, and the work still spends your plan

During this preview, Claude Duet is included with Pro and Max. There is no separate Duet fee. Free accounts cannot join. Team and Enterprise cannot join yet. Anthropic says those plans are planned for later, not available now.

  • You need a Claude account in the US, a Pro or Max plan, and an invitation. The waitlist does not promise a date. Invitations go out in waves, and the email has to match both the Claude account and the Apple or Google account on the phone.
  • On claude.com/pricing, checked 22 October 2026, Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month if you pay $200 for the year. Max is listed from $100 a month. Anthropic's Max plan article lists Max 5x at $100 and Max 20x at $200, monthly only, and says prices in the phone app stores can differ. Those are the Claude plan prices. Duet does not add another line item on top.
  • Duet draws on the same five-hour session limit and the same weekly limit as the rest of Claude, at the same rate as chat. The morning brief, the check-ins, and a large job such as a financial model or a deck also count, so the cap can arrive sooner than chat alone.
  • When you are let in, you get one full reset of both the five-hour limit and the weekly limit. Anthropic's Duet help article says that reset is available until 30 November 2026.

What it will take on, and what stays blocked

Anthropic says Duet can use more than 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace. That number is Anthropic's. The help article is more specific about which connections exist today, and about the actions that stay off even if you say yes.

  • Named tools include Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Intuit QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto payroll drafts, LinkedIn job posts, Docusign, HubSpot, Canva, Calendly, and Shopify. A richer visual editor for a Shopify storefront is described as coming soon, not as something you can use now.
  • A site with no connector is opened in Duet's own cloud browser. Microsoft 365 is not available in Duet yet, even though Pro includes Claude for Microsoft 365 in the main product. Slack works, with limits Anthropic does not spell out further.
  • Link, Stripe's wallet, and Shop Pay can pay for a purchase you approve. Each payment uses a one-time card, so the real card number is not handed to the store. You connect those wallets inside Claude Duet, not in the general connector list. The Stripe connector that looks up unpaid invoices and drafts reminders is a different connection from Link. Signing in with logins saved in 1Password is listed as coming soon.
  • Before it sends a message, pays, signs a document, or deletes anything, it is supposed to show the exact step and wait. If you do not answer, it can finish the rest of the task and bring that approval back later.
  • Some steps stay blocked even after you approve: trading securities, moving money between accounts, and opening someone else's account. It does not call people or text them. Email goes out only from an account you connected, and only after you approve the send.
  • It cannot see every Claude project, and it cannot see the files on your computer. It can read work already in Claude. It cannot change that work.
  • A separate check is meant to refuse requests to pass on the strictest details, including credit card numbers and government ID numbers. Health details and personal finances are supposed to go out only when you explicitly told Duet to send them.
  • Anthropic says email and web pages can hide instructions meant to mislead the agent. Approval on the consequential steps is the backstop they describe, and they say that defense is not perfect.
  • Disconnecting an app stops new access from that moment. Memory of information already taken from earlier conversations is kept.
  • Anthropic says the core is built around work. Personal errands, such as booking tickets, are not as strong. The preview can still misread a thread or misjudge what is urgent.

What early users said

These are accounts Anthropic published from its own early access. They are not interviews Seailife ran, and they are not a rate for how often Duet catches a mistake.

  • Jess Provencher, broker and owner of Pro Homes, said a morning rundown flagged a property showing that was on her calendar for the wrong day. She called that the kind of catch she wanted without having to ask.
  • Amin Ebrahimi, owner of Shahs of Kabob in South Florida, which he describes as about 110 employees, said he has used it for accounting, customer support, marketing, and invoices store by store, instead of opening what he called 100 tabs.
  • Mya Dalton, a brand strategist, said Duet saw a client call on the calendar, prepared a brief, noticed the call sat just before a flight, and offered to move it.
  • Anthropic also describes its own staff: Boris Cherny, who leads Claude Code, talking through a to-do list on walks; Chelsea Larsson handing over a list before time with her kids; and Karan Ahuja, who leads the Duet team, using it to schedule interviews, prototype, and ship code. Those are employee accounts, not outside customers.

The product page also shows a sample morning for an operator named Maya, with invented deals, a $640 permit fee, and a dashboard called Marlo Pulse. That screen is a demo layout. It is not a reported customer result.

Where to start

The product page is claude.com/product/claude-duet. The announcement is Introducing Claude Duet. Setup, the waitlist, and the limits are in Anthropic's get-started article. Plan prices are on claude.com/pricing. There is no public code repository for Duet. The image on this page is Anthropic's Claude Duet wordmark card, not a screenshot of the app and not a test Seailife ran.
