Runway Ads - Product Image

Runway Ads is Runway's ad engine. The pages that describe it name a private pilot, a wider audience, and no price.

A pilot form, and a wider audience on the same pages

Runway Ads is the product Runway announced on 30 September 2026. Connect an ad account and a brand kit, and it generates video and image creative, publishes the variants you approve, reads the performance back, and builds the next round from what earned spend. The product page says those inputs are the brand kit, product imagery, and past winning ads, and that every variant is tagged by hook, audience, format, and call to action.

The product FAQ says Runway is piloting Ads with select enterprise partners, ahead of a wider rollout, and that the form on the page goes to the Enterprise Sales team. The news post the same day closes with the same pilot and the same sales team. Earlier in that post, small teams are told they can now compete at any scale, running thousands of ads a week. Small businesses and individual creators are told they can now reach new channels. The product page addresses a lean in-house team and a global enterprise, and names DTC brands, ecommerce, mobile apps, and agencies.

Adweek, in a piece by Trishla Ostwal the same day, says Runway Ads launches that day inside the company's web app, and names Lovable as the launch partner. The product page and the news post read for this listing do not name Lovable.

Meta, Google, TikTok, and a fourth name

The product FAQ, and the news post, say approved variants go directly to Meta, Google, and TikTok, and that performance is read back from each of them. The product page's own description line adds Snap to that list. The section about Runway's own paid program says the infrastructure is used particularly on Meta and TikTok.

Human approval is on by default. Every variant runs through an automated brand check before it reaches the approval queue. A team can switch to automated publishing by campaign, or by variant type. Budget limits can be set: a maximum daily change, a minimum share of net-new audience, and retargeting caps. Neither page prints a default for those three. Localization follows rules the team sets, such as brand voice and terms that stay untranslated, and it covers on-screen text, product screenshots, and the voiceover. Performance is read for each market separately. Each variant is also resized across aspect ratios and channel specs. The news post adds that an ecommerce catalog can be generated from existing product feeds.

Three examples in the news post

The news post gives three worked examples. A direct-to-consumer brand on Meta goes from a handful of hero ads to dozens of hook-and-format variants in the time a brief used to take. A mobile app takes one winning ad into dozens of languages, with on-screen text and interface screenshots adapted with the voiceover, and the same read is run on each market because a hook that wins in one place may not win in another. An agency runs that loop across a roster of clients, using the approval and brand-check settings so each client's creative stays on brand.

The figures are Runway's own account

The product page says these figures are Runway's own performance marketing since July 2026, with click-through rate holding steady. Additional annual recurring revenue it attributes directly to that program is $100 million and up. Ads per week went from 77 to about 900. Return on ad spend is 2x. Conversion is up 34%. Cost per subscriber is down 41%.

The news post has the volume, from 77 to roughly 900 a week, the doubled return on ad spend, conversion up roughly 34%, click-through rate holding steady, and cost per subscriber down 41%, and it says they spent more to reach that scale. It does not print the $100 million line. The line under Adweek's headline says the internal campaigns have helped drive $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

Anastasis Germanidis, co-CEO, is quoted on the product page: they built Runway Ads because they needed it themselves, and putting generation, publishing, and measurement in one system, rather than three tools stitched together, gave them visibility into paid advertising and let them move faster. The same pages say Ads builds on Runway Agent, and that the team keeps ownership and approval. The pricing page sells image and video credits. It does not mention Runway Ads, so it does not give Ads a price.
