Narrative is an AI video editor. You describe the cut, it builds a timeline you can still change, and no public page prints a plan price.
Narrative calls itself an AI-first video editor. Under the surf timeline the page says this is the editor itself, not a picture of it.
One brief on that timeline: cut this down to a 15 second reel, best rides only, ramp the drops, and put a card on at the end. The page prints Done in 12s, then a reply with five shots, the barrel in the middle, drops at 60% on the beat, and an end card at 0:13. A second ask, best rides with a title and music, is printed as a finished turn: 2 tools, 9.5 credits, version 11 to version 12, and a control that restores version 11.
Homepage buttons say Get started for free and Get the iOS app. Choose a plan goes to /start. The app also has /plans. Both come back as the sign-in shell, with no plan name and no dollar amount.
The terms, last updated 19 September 2026, are with Narrative AI Inc.
On the App Store the app is Narrative: AI Video Editor, priced Free. The description ends in capitals: timeline editing, AI editing, and exports require a Narrative subscription. First release 30 September 2026. Version 1.0.2 is dated 2 October 2026. It requires iOS 18, and the lookup shows 5 from 5 ratings.
The homepage names wedding films, podcasts, match highlights, and product demos, plus a rough cut, a supercut, or a vertical reel from a two hour shoot. The Y Combinator page, Fall 2025, names corporate post-production teams, wedding videographers, and sports teams, and says an editing and clipping API for businesses will launch soon. The try-it address on that page is narrative.video, which now redirects to usenarrative.ai. The App Store text names people who edit on a phone and post often: sports highlights, montages, short-form edits, and talking-head clips.
YC lists the company as founded in 2025, a team of 3, in New York City. Erik Vank is founder and CEO, Victor Chapman is founder and CPO, Aryan Sawhney is founder and CTO. The team note says they have scaled consumer apps to 2 million users.
You keep the rights in what you upload and in the edits. Narrative claims no ownership, and your content is not used to train generative models except with a separate opt-in. The minimum age is 13. Account mail is [email protected], and the App Store lists [email protected]. The 12 September 2026 guide How to edit videos with AI says its example opens in the editor without an account.
